'You Absolutely Deserve This Success': Djokovic's Emotional Tribute to Zverev

Novak Djokovic has shared an emotional tribute to Alexander Zverev following the German star's historic Roland-Garros triumph, praising his resilience, determination, and remarkable journey to Grand Slam success.

Taking to social media, Djokovic reflected on his long-standing relationship with Zverev, recalling how their friendship dates back to childhood when the two families regularly crossed paths on the junior and professional tennis circuits.

"Sasha, I have known you since you were 10 years old," Djokovic wrote, remembering the days when Zverev practiced alongside his younger brother while he competed against Zverev's elder brother, Mischa.

The Serbian legend highlighted the countless conversations they shared over the years about tennis tactics, life, family, and business, emphasizing the close bond he has maintained with the Zverev family.

Djokovic reserved special praise for Zverev's perseverance in overcoming personal challenges and adversity. He noted that many critics doubted whether the German would ever capture a Grand Slam title, making the Roland-Garros victory even more meaningful.

"Knowing what you had to endure with your illness since a young age, overcoming the greatest mental hurdle within yourself and shutting down critics who thought you would never win a Grand Slam, makes this win even more special and memorable," Djokovic wrote.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion also admitted that watching Zverev celebrate with his family and team after the victory left him emotional.

"Seeing the tears of joy you had together with your parents, brother and other team members made me emotional. I'm happy that you made it and you absolutely deserve this success because you have worked so hard on every front to make it happen. Enjoy it," Djokovic concluded.

Djokovic's heartfelt message quickly resonated across the tennis world, with fans praising the sportsmanship and mutual respect shared between two of the sport's biggest stars. The tribute adds another memorable chapter to Zverev's fairytale Roland-Garros campaign, which culminated in the biggest achievement of his career.
