BRICS Summit 2026: Ayanda Holo, President of TV BRICS Africa, described the summit experience as “wonderful” and highlighted the large-scale participation of delegations and businesses from South Africa.

Speaking about the BRICS Summit 2026, Holo noted the significant presence of South African business representatives in the gathering. According to her, South Africa brought more than 130 business owners to the summit, reflecting the importance of business participation in strengthening cooperation among BRICS countries.

Holo also highlighted South African President Cyril Ramaphosa's message that responsibility for development cannot rest solely with governments.

She emphasised the role businesses can play in building stronger partnerships and contributing to shared prosperity.

Ayanda Holo Praises BRICS Summit 2026 Experience
Ayanda Holo said the BRICS Summit 2026 had been a large-scale and positive experience, pointing to the increased number of delegations participating in the event.

She highlighted the broader participation as one of the notable aspects of the summit and said the gathering had provided an important platform for engagement among countries and their representatives.

According to Holo, the scale of participation demonstrated the growing importance of the BRICS platform for dialogue, economic engagement and cooperation.

More South African Businesses Participate

One of the key points highlighted by Holo was South Africa's business participation at the summit.

She said South Africa brought more than 130 business owners to the event. The participation of business representatives adds an important economic dimension to the summit and creates opportunities for engagement beyond government-to-government relations.

The presence of South African businesses also reflects the country's interest in strengthening commercial and economic relationships within the broader BRICS framework.

Cyril Ramaphosa Highlights Role of Businesses

Holo also praised South African President Cyril Ramaphosa's contribution to the discussions, saying he had “brought forward his A-game” at the summit.

She particularly highlighted his message regarding the role of businesses in development.

According to Holo, Ramaphosa acknowledged that responsibility for development cannot rest solely with governments. Businesses also need to play their part in building stronger economies and partnerships.

Development Requires Wider Participation

The comments underline the importance of cooperation between governments and the private sector.

While governments play a central role in creating policies and frameworks for development, businesses can contribute through investment, entrepreneurship, innovation and cross-border partnerships.

At the BRICS Summit 2026, the participation of business leaders alongside government representatives provides an opportunity to strengthen these connections and explore avenues for greater economic cooperation.

India-South Africa Relations in Focus

Holo also spoke about the deeper relationship between South Africa and India, highlighting the importance of working together for shared prosperity.
