India Crush Afghanistan by 170 Runs in 2nd ODI as Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan Tons Seal Series Victory

A dominant India were buoyed by centuries from skipper Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan to beat Afghanistan by 170 runs in the second ODI at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Wednesday, to win the three-match series with a game to spare.

Skipper Gill led struck a magnificent 154 off 110 balls, while smashed 125 off only 79 deliveries as India piled up a daunting 402 all out with one ball remaining in their innings.

Afghanistan were never in contention to chase down the target despite a fighting 79 from Rahmat Shah. They eventually were bowled out for 232 for nine in 44.3 overs.

Gurnoor Brar claimed three wickets, while Arshdeep Singh also pickee up three scalps.

The victory gives India an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series after their seven-wicket win in the rain-shortened opener in Dharamsala.

"We wanted to keep the momentum going and build a big score. Once we got set, we knew we had to make it count," Gill said after the match.
