Passengers will be able to use the service for voice and data connectivity while travelling internationally.
Physical SIM and eSIM Options
The product will be available in two formats, allowing passengers to choose between a physical SIM card and an eSIM.
The travel SIM has been developed in partnership with Tata Communications. Both Air India and Tata Communications are part of the Tata Group.
Travel SIM Initially Available Free of Cost
Air India said the SIM card itself will initially be provided free of cost, while passengers will have to pay charges for the applicable international roaming packs.
The ancillary product is aimed at providing passengers with connectivity options during overseas travel through an Air India-branded service.
