Assam Records 84.42% Voting Till 5 PM; Robust Turnout Across Districts

Polling for the 126 Assembly seats in Assam witnessed a strong voter turnout, with 84.42% of voters casting their ballots till 5 PM. The day saw enthusiastic participation across both rural and urban constituencies, indicating high electoral engagement.

South Salmara-Mankachar district recorded the highest turnout at an impressive 94.08%, reflecting particularly strong voter mobilisation in the region. Several other districts also reported high polling percentages, contributing to the overall robust turnout.

Polling was largely peaceful across the state, with the Election Commission deploying extensive security arrangements to ensure a smooth voting process. Long queues were seen at multiple polling stations, especially during the morning and late afternoon hours, as voters stepped out in large numbers to exercise their democratic rights.
