ATF Price Hike Won’t Raise Airfares, Assures Civil Aviation Ministry

By Editorial Team 👁 306
India’s Civil Aviation Ministry has clarified that the recent partial increase in Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices will not impact passengers through higher airfares or fuel surcharges. Asangba Chuba Ao, Joint Secretary at the Civil Aviation Ministry, stated that the pricing adjustment has been carefully structured to ensure airlines do not pass on the additional burden to consumers. The assurance comes amid concerns over rising global energy prices and their potential impact on the aviation sector. Officials emphasized that maintaining fare stability remains a priority, even as fuel costs fluctuate. This move is expected to provide relief to passengers and support steady demand in the domestic aviation market.
