Eknath Shinde Meets Tiger Shroff After Firing, Warns Gangs of Strong Response
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has issued a strong warning against criminal gangs following the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai, declaring that the government would not tolerate gang wars in the city.
Shinde visited Shroff at his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area late Sunday night to enquire about his well-being and reassure his family. He also assured the actor and his family of full security following the incident.
Unidentified assailants opened fire at Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening. The actor escaped unhurt, while his driver and another person sustained injuries.
Speaking to reporters after meeting the actor, Shinde said, “It will be tit for tat, bullets for bullets,” signalling a tough response against those responsible for the attack. He said the time had come to dismantle criminal networks once again, recalling the crackdown on gangsters during the 1990s.
The Deputy Chief Minister asserted that the government would not allow criminal gangs to threaten celebrities or establish their dominance in Mumbai or anywhere in Maharashtra. He said the police would conduct a thorough investigation, identify those behind the firing and take action against the networks involved.
Shinde described the incident as unfortunate and said the safety of citizens remained the government’s priority. He also expressed concern over the mental stress faced by Shroff and his family, particularly his mother, Ayesha Shroff, noting that the actor had reportedly been involved in no dispute or altercation.
Meanwhile, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack in a viral social media post. However, the police have yet to verify the authenticity of the claim.
The Mumbai Police investigation is expected to focus on identifying the assailants, establishing the motive behind the firing and determining whether any organised criminal network was involved.
