Veteran actress and politician Hema Malini expressed deep grief over the demise of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, calling it an “irreparable loss” for the nation. Sharing her heartfelt condolences, Hema Malini said she was struggling to come to terms with the passing of an icon who brought unmatched energy and expression to Indian music. She highlighted the profound emotional bond she shared with Asha ji, whose voice elevated many of her songs and contributed significantly to her success in the film industry. “Asha Tai was full of life and her voice carried an extraordinary vivacity and character. It is especially hard for me as I had a deep emotional connect with her. She made many of my songs immensely popular with her unique style,” she said. Recalling her close association with both Asha Bhosle and her elder sister Lata Mangeshkar, Hema Malini acknowledged their immense contribution to her cinematic journey and to Indian music as a whole. Calling it a monumental loss, she added that Asha Bhosle’s passing has left a void not just in Maharashtra but across the entire country—one that can never truly be filled.
