Women’s Trap Team Wins Silver as India Continues Strong Asian Games Run

India continued its impressive shooting campaign at the 2026 Asian Games as the women’s trap team secured a Silver Medal in a strong display of consistency and composure.

The Indian trio of Manisha Keer, Neeru Dhanda and Aashima Ahlawat delivered a disciplined performance across three days of qualification rounds to finish second on the podium.

Seasoned shooter Manisha Keer combined with Asian Games debutants Neeru Dhanda and Aashima Ahlawat to produce a strong collective effort. India finished with 328 hits out of 375 targets, earning the silver medal.

China dominated the event to claim the Gold Medal with an impressive score of 346 points. Kuwait completed the podium with 325 points, finishing three points behind India.

The silver adds another medal to India’s growing shooting haul at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, underlining the country’s strong presence across shooting disciplines.

India’s performance in the women’s trap team event also highlighted the contribution of both experienced athletes and emerging shooters, with Neeru Dhanda and Aashima Ahlawat making their Asian Games debut on a memorable note.
