Parul Chaudhary Secures Bronze in Women’s 5000m at Asian Games 2026

India’s Parul Chaudhary continued her impressive run at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, winning the bronze medal in the Women’s 5000 Metres with a time of 15:14.61.

The podium finish marked Parul’s second bronze medal of the Games, adding another achievement to her successful Asian Games campaign.

Bahrain’s Winfred Yavi claimed the gold medal after clocking 15:10.18, while Japan’s Nozomi Tanaka secured the silver with a time of 15:11.65.

Parul remained firmly in the leading group throughout the race and maintained her pace until the final stages. Tanaka held off the Indian athlete during the closing-lap sprint, with Parul crossing the finish line in third place.

The bronze medal follows Parul’s earlier podium finish in the Women’s 3000m Steeplechase, giving her two bronze medals in athletics at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

For Indian athletics, Parul’s back-to-back podium finishes underline her consistency and endurance across two demanding middle- and long-distance events.
