Pradeep Bhandari Accuses Congress of Undermining Democracy
Delhi: BJP leader Pradeep Bhandari launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, accusing it of acting against the democratic institutions of the country. Bhandari alleged that the political battle had become one between the Congress leadership and the people of India.
Pradeep Bhandari Targets Congress
Bhandari said Congress was fighting against “We, the People of India” and alleged that the party, its workers and the Gandhi-Vadra family were engaged in actions that he claimed undermined democratic institutions.
He also referred to Congress’ earlier position on returning to ballot papers, arguing that the party had faced electoral defeats in places such as Assam and Tripura despite electronic voting machines not being the only factor in those contests.
Bhandari Questions Rahul Gandhi’s Approach
The BJP leader alleged that Rahul Gandhi was aware of a lack of public faith in him and claimed that this was behind his criticism of democratic institutions.
Bhandari further accused Gandhi of disregarding constitutional authorities and the Supreme Court of India. He questioned whether Rahul Gandhi and the Gandhi-Vadra family were placing themselves above the judiciary.
BJP Leader Alleges Threat to Democratic Institutions
Bhandari also accused Congress workers of what he described as “hooliganism” and alleged that the Gandhi-Vadra family had made baseless allegations against democratic institutions.
His remarks came amid a wider political confrontation between the BJP and Congress over democracy, elections and the functioning of constitutional institutions.
